THE MARY TOOMEY CLEMATIS GARDEN AT CHALK HILL This garden was designed and developed in collaboration with Mary Toomey over the last two years and is a tribute to her incredible dedication, tireless efforts and contributions over many years in many countries, writing, lecturing and broadcasting about clematis. The garden is adjacent to the nursery and consists of a large pergola planted with roses and clematis and 5 individual gardens each with a different theme including an 80ft. long perennial bed featuring many herbaceous varieties. We hope the garden will be both inpirational and provide greater insight in understanding the many ways clematis can be used in the garden.
CHALK HILL SHIPPING CONTAINERS We ship our plants in a container, carefully selected and tested by us, that will save you money on shipping costs while ensuring your clematis is large enough to plant directly in the garden and survive. Our extra long 4 in. x 9.5 in. pots facilitate the development of strong root systems that will give your clematis the best chance to succeed. The most common reason for a failed clematis plant in the garden is a plant that does not have a large enough root system.
SUMMER/FALL VISITING HOURS The Clematis Nursery and Mary Toomey Clematis Garden will be open to visitors WEDNESDAY - SATURDAY 10am-3pm. BY APPOINMENT ONLY. Please call 707-433-8416 in advance to schedule your visit.
